At The Pen and Paper Society, we believe in the magic of storytelling—delivered one letter at a time. We want you to feel delighted with each part of your journey. While our letters are non-returnable (after all, the past can’t be rewritten), we do offer flexible refund options where possible.

Letter Subscriptions (Story Series) - 30-Day Satisfaction Guarantee

If your letter experience doesn't meet your expectations, let us know within 30 days of purchase. Upon request, we’ll issue a full refund—no return required. You’re welcome to keep any letters

already received as our gift to you

Note: Refunds are not automatically issued with cancellations. Please email us to initiate a request.

After 30 Days

• Monthly Subscriptions - After the 30-day guarantee, we’re unable to refund monthly charges

already processed. However, you’ll still receive any remaining letters you’ve paid for.

Prepaid Subscriptions - From days 31–60, you’re eligible for a prorated refund of the unused portion of your subscription.
After 60 days, refunds are no longer available, but we’ll ensure the remaining letters are mailed to your provided address.

Gift Boxes, Accessories, & Other Products

Non-subscription products (gift items, stationery, etc.) may be returned within 30 days of purchase if unused and in original condition. Return shipping is the client’s responsibility

To return an item:

Include a copy of your receipt or order confirmation
Provide your order number, name, and contact email
Briefly explain the reason for return and whether you’d like a refund or exchange

Shipping fees are non-refundable. Refunds will be processed once the returned product is received and verified to be in resale condition.

Unless otherwise stated, shipping charges apply. You’ll be able to review and confirm your shipping rate before completing checkout.

Mailing Schedule for Letter Series

Your first letter will typically be mailed within 1–3 business days of your order. If you’ve purchased a keepsake box or bundle, your first letter may arrive tucked inside the box.

The remaining letters in the 24-part series are mailed in installments via USPS—generally during the second and fourth weeks of each month. These installments are sent using standard mail and do not include tracking unless otherwise specified.

Shipping for Other Products

Products outside of our letter collections (such as stationery, gift sets, or collectibles) are typically shipped within 3–5 business days of your order. Please allow additional time during holiday or high volume periods—up to 10 business days for dispatch.

International Shipping

We happily ship worldwide, to any country currently serviced by the United States Postal Service. International rates vary by destination and will be calculated at checkout. Delivery timelines for international shipments may vary depending on your local postal system.

Resending Letters

We understand that mail can occasionally go astray. We are happy to resend letters as needed, and we kindly ask for your partnership in helping ensure accurate and timely delivery

If a letter is undelivered due to a mistyped or outdated address provided by the client, we will resend one letter free of charge. Any additional resends will incur a small fee of $5 per letter (U.S.) or $7 per letter (International).

If you are moving, please notify us at support@thepenandpapersociety.com as soon as possible. Updating your forwarding address with the post office does not forward our letters—only you can update your records with us.
If your letter was damaged, incorrect, or incomplete due to our error, we will gladly resend it at no cost.

Story Exchanges

Changed your mind about a story? You may switch to a different letter series within 60 days of your original order. A fee of $5 per letter ($7 international) already processed or mailed will apply. After 60 days, story exchanges are not available.

Redemption Codes & Refunds

Refunds for unused redemption codes are available within 60 days of purchase. Once a code has been redeemed, it is no longer eligible for a refund.

If your product included a keepsake or other physical items, all items must be returned in unused condition to receive a full refund. Refunds will reflect the cost of the subscription minus the value of any unreturned items.
